The game that had everyone buying cheap suits for Halloween and too afraid to venture into the woods returns. Slenderman is back in Slender: The Arrival, in HD with a story that is guaranteed to send a chill down your spine.
The story has the same set-up as popular horror movie series Paranormal Activity: a man commentating his amateur video as he seeks to find the truth of his friend Charlie’s disappearance. As the main character, you must search through the vast map: going into abandoned houses, empty mines and through open hillsides. The strategy remains the same as the original Slender: find the objects you need in order to advance on to the next part of the game. with each item, you find some clues about Charlie’s disappearance.
IGN Entertainment comments the Blue Isle Studios creates an authentic creepy atmosphere with perfectly placed music, sound effects, lighting and, of course, Slender. A masked child is added to the list of opponents you face and is ruthless when it comes to attacking you on your journey.
Slender: The Arrival also offers multiple levels to challenge other players with an appetite for horror. the higher difficulties limit the use of your flashlight, your only source of light, and increase the aggressiveness of your opponents. The best approach is to walk quickly and never stay in one place for too long. In Slender: The Arrival, Slenderman can chase you, lock you into rooms and knock out your flashlight, isolating you and eliminating your increased safety. As always, keep your head down: looking for too long at the iconic faceless man will seal your fate resulting in an instant Game Over.
Slender: The Arrival is out on Steam, PSN and The Microsoft Store for $10, and each download comes with a code for a PC edition.
